Raiding and Sieging

Cities have to be protected from two types of attacks:

  • Raids
  • Conquests
Political Atlas.png

Both of these can be declared by a governor of vice governor of a town, by opening the Political Atlas interface from the Town Hall. Alternatively, a guild leader can declare a conquest (but not a raid) through the Town Hall of the city in which he is a citizen.

The interface will show you the continent of your city, and allow you to select other cities to invite them to your Nation or to declare Conquests and Raids.

When declaring an attack, the attackers will have the possibility to select a time for the attack, which is compatible with the prime time selected by the defenders for their city. Those prime times are either:

EU (6 PM-10 PM CET / 5PM - 9PM UTC)

US (6 PM-10 PM EST / 11PM - 3AM UTC)

A city can be under attack by part of only one other city at the same time, and a city can only have one attack going on at the same time.

Raids

Raids are the most common type of attack between cities. They can be declared against any other city on the continent, and they have a relatively cheap cost.

The cost to declare one depends on the rank of the target city:

Rank 0 to 4: 10.000 gold

Rank 5 to 9: 20.000 gold

Rank 10 to 15: 30.000 gold

Siege Banner.png

Once declared, a siege banner will spawn in the target city, informing everyone there that their city is under attack.

The raid will start at the time selected for the attack, and at least 48 hours after the declaration. So if for example it is 2PM CET when you declare a raid, and you select as the time for the attack the 9 PM CET, the attack will start in 55 hours.

The objective of the attackers is to destroy the siege banner in front of the Town Hall.

The objective of the defenders is to resist for one hour, or to destroy the attacker's siege banner, which will immediately end the raid.

If the attackers manage to win, then the attacking city will take resources from the enemy town hall depending on the rank of the attacked city. The amount of resources will be equal to the resources needed by the defending city to reach its current rank (both gold and food). These will be automatically added to the town hall of the attackers.

If the defending city does not have these resources, it will generate them automatically, but will also lose a rank.

Conquests

A conquest is a rarer event, since it involves a greater consume of resources from the attacker.

The cost to declare one depends on the rank of the target city:

Rank 0 to 4: 100.000 gold

Rank 5 to 9: 200.000 gold

Rank 10 to 15: 300.000 gold

Once declared, a siege banner will spawn in the target city, informing everyone there that their city is under attack.

The raid will start at the time selected for the attack, and at least 72 hours after the declaration. So if for example it is 2PM CET when you declare a raid, and you select as the time for the attack the 9 PM CET, the attack will start in 79 hours.

A conquest is an attempt to take direct control of the enemy city, by lowering their loyalty value.

The loyalty acts pretty much as the "HP" of the cities, and has a max value of 100.

It is recovered at a rate of 1 per 6 hours.

If it hits zero, the city gets conquered.

The objective of the attackers is to destroy as many possible banners.

For each secondary banner destroyed, the city will lose 15 loyalty.

If the main banner is destroyed, the city will lose 50 loyalty.

Since the maximum amount of secondary banners is 3, this means that the maximum loyalty loss in a single attack is 95.

It is therefore impossible to conquer a city with a single attack.

The objective of the defenders is to resist for one hour, or to destroy the attacker's siege banner, which will immediately end the raid.

Conquering a city

Once a city loyalty goes to zero, the city is lost. The current owners of it have one week of time to vacate whatever valuable things they have in there and move in a different area.

After 1 week, all citizens of the city are delisted and the governor changes to the conqueror.

Residents which have their plots outside of the city halls will not be affected.
