Description

Gladiator.png
The Gladiator is a powerful front-line fighter.

He can dish out as much as he takes, usually using abilities to quickly charge into combat.
However, he has problems with armor since his damage is purely physical.

The gladiator prefers heavy armor (preferably the Slayer Armor Set, Knight Armor Set or Full Plate Armor Set) and also melee based weapons swords, axes, hammer, shields and polearms.

The preferred stats are Strength and Constitution.


Story

"Enslaved after the defeat of your barbarian tribe, you've earned the respect of the people of Syndesia as a champion of the Arena.

For you, being chosen to assess a new, savage world is just another challenge to be overcome by your strength and resilience."

Starting Abilities

Your character will start with these abilities. You cannot change your starter abilities, but any character can in any case learn all abilities in the game, so this collection of abilities will matter only for the first hours of play, after which you will collect many more new ones.

Attributes

After selecting the gladiator background at creation, you will be asked to select your attributes. These are very important and very hard to change after character creation, so choose wisely. By default, the gladiator will be created with these attributes:

Strength 16
Dexterity 12
Intelligence 6
Constitution 14
Perception 12
Charisma 6


Quests

Quest 1: A moment of peace

You wake up in a forest. The howling of wolves is near, but you're pretty sure they can't reach you up this hill.

Take a moment to organize your thoughts. You can fight, but dont't remember how. Sit over the fire, take a deep breath, and remember.

Tasks:
  • Rest at a bonfire in one of the encampments.
  • Save an ability preset containing Cleave Armor, Sharp Strike, Decimate, Bloodlust and Battle Jump.
  • Memorize a ability preset containing Cleave Armor, Sharp Strike, Decimate, Bloodlust and Battle Jump.
Tips:
  • To rest, click on a bonfire, then on the meditating icon.
  • There is a bonfire in each starting encampment.
  • Save an ability preset containing all your starting abilities.
  • New ability presets can be saved at any time, using the SKILLS AND ABILITIES menu, in the PRESETS section.
  • Memorize an ability preset containing all your starting abilities.
  • Ability presets can be memorized only while RESTING.
  • To memorize a preset, select it and click on the MEMORIZE button below.
  • Extratip: Dont forget to drag and drop the abilities into your hotbar, otherwise you cannot use them.

Quest 2: Healing Provision

Wolves will hurt you, adventurer. They have long, sharpened teeth and dirty claws. Before you start to fight them, you'll need to think about the aftermath of the combat.

Search around, and try to avoid fighting.

  • Gather plant fiber from Flax Plants Icon FlaxFiber.png.
  • Open the INVENTORY CRAFTING menu, and search for LINEN WEAVE in the MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS section Icon LinenWeave.png.
  • Open the INVENTORY CRAFTING menu, and search for LINEN BANDAGES in the CONSUMABLES section Icon LinenBandages.png.

Quest 3: The best defence

Where are you going? You already want to fight? Without a weapon, you are defenseless.

It's time to create something to avoid dangers and kill your enemies.

  • To collect tree branches, click on a tree, then on a branch icon to start gathering them. Icon TreeBranch.png
  • Small stones can be found on the ground all over the place, click them to pick them up. Icon SmallStone.png
  • Ropes are crafted from plant fibers. You can find the recipe in your INVENTORY CRAFTING menu in the MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS section Icon Rope.png.
  • A primitive axe is crafted from tree branches, a small stone and a rope. Search for the recipe in your INVENTORY CRAFTING menu Icon StoneHatchet.png.
  • A primitive shield is crafted from tree branches and a rope. Search for the recipe in your INVENTORY CRAFTING menu Icon Primitive Shield.png.
  • Extratip: Dont forget to equip your new craftet weapons.

Quest 4: Wolf hunting

Probably, you've already seen some wolves. They are just down the cliff you placed your tent, searching for some rabbits, or maybe, for you. Now, you can fight them. In the wild, it's kill or be killed and you don't want to end up on their menu.

Every part of an animal is important, so don't forget to take everything. Even the teeth can become a nice trophy.

Tasks:

  • Search for wolves in the forest around the starting camps, defeat them, and loot their corpses!
  • Look up the recipe for a Wolf Teeth Nechlace in your INVENTORY CRAFTING menu, then collect all the ingredients you need and craft one Icon WolfTeethNecklace.png!

Quest 5: Barbecue time

As the sun goes down, you see the light of a nearby village. The inhabitants will probably give you hospitality, at least to cook the wolves you just killed.

Search for the local tavern, the one with a fireplace, and start cooking some meals.

  • The village is right past the brigde, follow the river towards east and you'll find it.
  • If you feel lost, just look at the map!

Quest 6: Gear up

Now that you are well fed and ready for some action, it's time to craft some real defense.

Go to the local tailor's shop, bring with you all the things you collected so far, and craft a proper piece of armor. Don't forget to wear what you have created!

Tasks:
Tips:
  • Use one of the FLESHING BEAMS right outside the tailor's shop to refine a few pieces of Animal Rawhide.
  • If you don't have enough rawhide, you can kill a few more wolves in the forest south of the river. Icon FleshingBeam.png
  • Use a tailor's bench to craft the MAIN PIECE of an Hide Armor Set. Icon HideArmor.png

Quest 7: To the mountains

While you are crafting something to cover you up, you hear some strange voice around you. The quit village you are visiting right now, is very near to a bandit camp.

Obviously, those criminals have no mercy, they steal and kill as much as they like. Go to the mountains, find those criminals and repay the favor this village did to you.

Tasks:
  • Reach the bandit camp north of the village.
Tips:
  • You can find the bandit camps if you head north, towards to the mountains.

Quest 8: Bounty Hunting

Here they are, bandits, the lowest level of a human being. THey are well organized, and all gear up, just as you are. You study them from afar, and then you realize something: they are at your same level.

Kill as many as you like, but try to catch up more of the ones like you. Maybe, just maybe, you can learn some new tricks.

  • Kill the bandits hidden in the mountains up north, and discover new abilities.

Quest 9: What have I learned today?

You have killed enough bandits. As you think about the combat you realize that something inside you has changed forever.

You need to rest to a fire and meditate to understand your new powers.

Quest 10: One of many talents

The way of the warrior is far beyond some new tricks and trophy. While you are resting at a fireplace, you start asking yourself how far you can push your body. Is there a limit?

Can you become a better warrior? In that very moment you realize your journey has just started, you feel pumped and ready for a new battle.

Tasks:
  • Save Talent Preset.
  • Memorize Talent Preset.
Tips:
  • Talent presets can be created at any time just like ability presets, in the PRESETS section of the SKILLS AND ABILITIES menu.
  • Talent presets, like ability presets, can only be memorized while Resting.
  • Just select the preset you want, and press the MEMORIZE button.

Quest 11: The adventure begins

You are ready. Now it's time to become a great warrior.

Step into the portal, choose your destination. Grab your weaoins and start your journey!

  • Talent presets can be created at any time just like ability presets, in the PRESETS section of the SKILLS AND ABILITIES menu.
  • Use the portal in the starting of the village to end the tutorial.
  • Extratip: Equip the best aviable Equipement before leaving!

Description

Bowman.png
The bowman is a reliable ranged attacker good against humanoid and animal foes.

High dexterity provides attack and move speed that will make it easier to keep enemies at range while perception provides damage and other effects.
As mobility is of high concern, a bowman will want to be aware of armor weight and thus prefer the lighter tanned hides which are good all-round gear.
Having an ally to trade enemy attention with is a great boon.
His preferred choice of equipement are Shortbow, Longbow, Ranger Armor and Hunter Armor.

The preferred stats are Dexterity and Perception.


Story

"The second child of a duke of Syndesia, you've been groomed since childhood to become a high-ranking officer.

As you were getting ready for your appointment, all has been taken away from you. Will you be capable of leading now?"

Attributes
