Armor Penetration
Armor Penetration is a special property that allows the user to bypass part of the Armor. It can also bypass the Resistances of the target, in which case it is called Magic Penetration.
Both the Armor Penetration and the Magic Penetration are be expressed in in percentage values.
Whenever the user inflicts damage, a part of this damage equal to the percentage value of penetration is applied directly to the target, without taking the armor or resistaces in consideration.
Skills that allow the user to ignore part of the target armor like Rend Armor and Impale are added to the user penetration. The same is true for effects on the target like Corrosion and Hex.
In any case, the maximum amount of total penetration cannot go over 50%.
To give an example of the effects, let's assume that the target has 500 Armor, which in normal conditions means that every damage taken is halved.
- If the attacker has an Armor Penetration of 10%, 10% of the damage of the attack would be applied at 100% of the effect, and the remaining 90% would inflict half damage. So the total mitigation is 45%.
