Armor Penetration

Armor Penetration is a special property that allows the user to bypass part of the Armor. It can also bypass the Resistances of the target, in which case it is called Magic Penetration.

Both the Armor Penetration and the Magic Penetration can be expressed in flat values of in percentage values.


In both cases, the effect is that when the user would inflict damage on a target, the Armor (or Resistances) of the target that are used to calculate the mitigation of said target would be reduced by a certain amount.

In case that the value of this property is flat, then that value is directly deduced from the target Armor.

In case that the value is a percentage, then the Armor of the target is reduced by said percentage.

In case that the user possesses both a flat and a percentage value, the Armor of the target is first reduced by the percentage amount, and then the result is reduced by the flat amount.


To give an example of this, let's assume that the target has 1000 armor.

  • If the attacker has an Armor Penetration of 100, the effective Armor of the target would be 900 against the attacks.
  • If the attacker has an Armor Penetration of 20%, the effective Armor of the target would 800 against the attacks.
  • If the attacker has an Armor Penetration of 20% and also an Armor Penetration of 100, the effective Armor of the target would 700 against the attacks. First reduced to 800 by the percentage value, and then to 700 by the flat value.
  • The Armor or Resistances of a target cannot be reduced below 0.


The effects of this property are calculated at the moment of the attack. This means that they are calculated after the modifiers already on the target like Corrosion or Warm.
