Some pass once and there are never to be found again, some pass regularly every few weeks, months or once a year(real time). Asteroids can last for an hour or a week. Rules set will differ on asteroids - Lawful PvP, PVE, Lawless PVP. They will have variety of biomes and life on them. Players will get on asteroids through events and rituals. Some asteroid could be made entirely of metals. Some are deprived of lifeforms, some are rich in other resources.

Players can build some things on asteroids like mobile encampments, roads, workbenches, these things are saved and will be there when asteroid comes back but of course their will decay over time. Building materials can be salvaged and building rebuild. Players can salvage any ruins,

Players cannot conquer asteroids.

Reasons to go there: You can find there resources in high concentration which would otherwise be unavailable for you from different reasons. Hardcore competitive PvP, tasks for skill upgrades.
